Welcome!

Pack 231 is a thriving Cub Scout unit including families with elementary students in Chadds Ford, Hillendale, Pocopson and neighboring private schools. The Pack is chartered by the Pocopson PTO and run by parent volunteers. Cub Scouts is a family-focused program designed for boys and girls in K-5th.

We hold meetings and plan activities throughout the school year. We emphasize fun while promoting the purposes and values of Cub Scouting. Click here for more information about joining Pack 231.

November Pack Meeting: November 20th @ 6:30 PM

Our November Pack Meeting is back at Pocopson and will feature a presentation from the Pennsylvania State Police.

Please wear your Class A uniforms and bring your donations for Scouting for Food.

Scouting for Food Suggested Items: 

Canned Goods (tuna - chicken - fruit - vegetables - soups - ravioli)

Peanut Butter - Cereal - Pop Tarts Pancake or Muffin Mixes - Stuffing

Crackers or Cookies - Instant Soup - Rice - Beans - Pasta

Powdered Juice or Milk - Dried Fruits - Snack Bars

Any other nonperishable food items

Messengers of Peace Tree Planting

 

Pack 231 will be planting trees this Sunday, November 10, 2024 to help the North American Land Trust’s Brinton Run Preserve.  Please bring work gloves, a hat, and a (full) water bottle.  If you have a shovel, mallet or sledgehammer, please bring them as well.

Pack 231 Cubs (or other Cub Scouts) participating in the project will complete the “Participate in a conservation project” requirement of their Champions for Nature elective adventure.  Your den leader may count this project toward another service project requirement instead.  

YPT and Med Forms for Spook-O-Ree

Please take/renew your Youth Protection Training (YPT) for 2024-2025 scout year. Reminder that Chester County Council requires adults renew YPT yearly. Please email completed certificate to ypt@231cubs.com

Medical Forms Parts A and B required for all those that will be attending the Spook-O-Ree (scouts, adults, siblings). Bring to the Pack Meeting if you can.  

If you are attending the Spook-O-Ree please review the Program Guide linked below.  If your scout would like to race a car in the Spook-O-Ree Pinewood Derby you must bring the car ready to paint/assemble, all cutting should be performed before the campout. Kits can be found on the internet and Hobby Lobby has ready to paint kits.  

Please review the Pack 231 Packing List as it also includes important information regarding fall/winter camping. 

Activities may include: Blacklight Pinewood Derby, BBs, archery, glow slingshots, a Haunted Pavilion, and several other themed activities. Trunk or Treating also available so bring a costume (but maybe not the one needed later that week). Details can be found here: 2024_SpookORee_Program_Guide.pdf

It is tent camping so if you need any guidance on what gear you may need (tent, sleeping bags, etc), please don't hesitate to ask a Pack Leader. 

The Spook-O-Ree runs from Saturday morning until Sundary morning (October 26-27).

Join / Renew for 2024-2025

It is that time of year to pay your 2024-2025 dues.  Please see below for instructions.     

Returning Scouts: Now that we have kicked off the new year it is also time that we ask for returning scouts to pay this year's dues. Please follow the instructions on the Join Pack 231 webpage.  

New Scouts: For new families that are ready to join you have 2 steps, register with Chester County Council and pay your Pack 231 dues. Please follow the instructions on the Join Pack 231 webpage.  

For all Scouting Families: Please take a few minutes and fill out the Family Talent Survey. This doesn't lock you into anything but it helps us know how you might like to help with den or pack activities.

Scouts can bring their Pinewood Derby cars from previous years to show off and be prepared to share stories about our other pack activities such as summer camp, weekend camping, and ice bowling.

Join Pack 231 for an evening of food, fun, and launching rockets.  This end of year celebration is also a great opportunity to bring siblings, friends and anyone who might be interested in joining the pack.  See you all there!
