Pack 231's first camping trip of the 2022/2023 scouting year is right around the corner. Please note some important details to make sure you're ready to camp.
Are you camp-ready?
1. If you don't have much experience with camping, no sweat. Check out this link for a checklist of essentials. We will also review everything you need and answer any questions at our Pack meeting on October 19th at 6:45 pm at Pocopson Elementary.
2. All adults must complete Youth Protection Training annually before coming to camp. YOU CAN NOT DO THIS ON THE DAY OF CAMP. Please find 90 minutes to complete this training as soon as possible.
3. You must complete these medical forms for both scouts and adults and turn them in upon arrival at camp. No physician signature is required.
There is still time to register. Please sign up as soon as possible. We could also use a few more adult volunteers in the kitchen. Minimal experience required!
Hike will be on an approximately 1 mile long paved trail. If you don't have an August Summertime Award event, this is the place to be on Sunday.
Sandy Hollow Heritage Park, 42 acres of preserved open space, much as it was in 1777, allows public access for passive recreation to a portion of the Brandywine Battlefield National Historic Landmark. Established in 2002, the park has a 1.1 mile asphalt path for pedestrians.
The park can be accessed from a parking area on South New Street, north of the intersection of South New Street and Birmingham Road.
